This story is a retell of an old tale about a puss in boots. Charles tells this story with a little bit of his own views. It tells of a son who inheritance the fathers cat. The son believes that he got the short end of the stick but the puss proves to him that he is worth it. The puss cleverly earns the trust of the king. He then uses that trust in order to help improve the life of his owner.
This book is good to help show students different folktales and the different ways that they are told. In the classroom students can compare the different telling of the story.
